Are there natural diet supressants available and are they addictive?

By admin

I know that the best way to loose weight is to eat less and execise more. I do exercise about 4 times a week and I try to keep my fat and calorie content down to a sensible amount (currently doing weight watchers), but I find that all do all day is think about food. It’s a constant battle not to eat, even though I’m not hungry. I’ve lost 2 stone, but then my weight loss stopped 5 months ago and I’m sure it’s because I can’t keep my eating under control. I can maybe go a couple of days eating normally, but it seems like toture. With an appetite supressant I know I would still eat sensibly and keep up the exercise but I just can’t stand the thought of food all the time – it’s so depressing (and when I feel low, I want to eat more). All I seem to get is warnings that Weight loss supliments are not the answer, but I’m wondering if those available are addictive? Has anybody had positive experiences with them?

I would go to the root of your problem- i.e. why food makes you happy while other things don’t, and eliminate that (could involve therapy). Also- how overweight are you? I mean, not how many lbs you THINK you need to lose, but what is your BMI (body mass index). Have you consulted a doctor about your weight?
Anyway, the most natural and absolutely non-addictive appetite suppressant is lean protein (lean meat, skim milk, soy, shakes, bars, etc.), but don’t forget to eat a lot of fiber to keep you digestive system working normally and vitamins to keep you healthy.

Weight loss supplements are a big con, the only drugs that will help you lose weight are dangerous and illegal without prescription in some extremely overweight people.
Your problem with food sounds psychological not physical and therapy to find out the root cause of your unhappiness would be better. Go and see your doctor who should be able to help you as you may be depressed or in need of someone to talk to in confidence.

The answers to this type of question, and if you look in search for questions, there are now 3-4 thousand duplicates of your question, are getting better.

Most people have sense enough to know that sustained weight loss generally does not come this way, In fact 2 in 3 fad or pill dieters end up HEAVIER! It seems that the only real hope of success is a modest calorie reduction, accompanied by regular vigorous exercise.

There is a natural product called "spirulina" that you can buy at health food shops in tablet form.
It acts as a natural appetite suppressant and worked for me.

Several years ago I was really into bodybuilding and wanted a supplement to help me metabolise protein. Spirulina was suggested, but I was warned that it took your appetite away and you had to force yourself to eat. I tried it and just felt full/bloated all the time, so had to stop. It’s made from algae that floats on lake surfaces.

The cheapest diet suppressant is water. Drinking a few pints in between meals will not only make you feel full (by expanding your stomach), but will be good for your skin and flush out toxins.
