Here’s the questions:
If Abby develops an eating disorder and under eats until her metabolism slows or stops how long would she have to eat 1200 calories a day to regain her body’s normal metabolism’s speed.

Your metabolism does not stop. It will slow down and by that I mean it starts storing fat and burning muscle. You can bring normal again very quickly, maybe within a week or so by eating more and some exercise. Eat 5 to6 times daily and drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of pure clean water like reverse osmosis or distilled water.
You say 1200 calories but how much does she weigh? She should be eating about 10 times her weight in calories or more.

I have overcome my eating disorder and have intentionally put on some weight, since I obviously needed to – but I have noticed that I haven’t had to eat very much for this weight gain to take place. I think my metabolism must be very slow after starving myself – so how can I increase my metabolism so that I can eat more food without gaining any more weight?
I remember reading somewhere that bodybuilders eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones because it supposedly boosts your metabolism. Other than that I can only suggest being active and exercising.
