WHY do certain people on here INSIST that low intensity exercise is better for fat loss?

Dr. Angelo Tremblay’s study showed high intensity is great. The "9 times more fat loss thing " is exaggerated and did NOT happen, but HIIT is still good.

I guarantee you lift weight hard for 45 minutes you WILL burn A LOT of calories and lose weight.

So WHY do CERTAIN people on here claim this?

because most ppl would give up if they had to lift weights goin at it hard for 45 mins. if they do something easy then they are more likely to keep doing it. if they keep doing it, the get more fat loss.

Lots of reasons, among them that many people don’t have the time or discipline to lift hard for 45 minutes. And, you can just as certainly build fat-burning muscle in shorter weightlifting sessions.

People say that because if they continue to do high intensity excercises, they’ll bulk up, rather than just lose weight to be thin, which is what most people are aiming for.

In any situation, high intensity work-outs WILL burn more fat/calories, you’ll just be building muscle as well. a teenage girl trying to drop a few pounds doesn’t want to get huge, she just want a leaner shape, therefore, she should be doing low intensity, endurance based exercises to burn fat.

Weight training can lead of "fat" loss, but more often than not leads to weight gain in the form of muscle.

The idea is that the more muscle you build, the more calories you need in order to feed those muscles…those calories come from fat.
