I’ve been trying to lose weight recently. I’ve been really healthy, drinking a lot of water, eating healthy and doing excercise, but my weight never goes down it just stays the same. So i considered Weight loss pills. Is it true that after you stop taking them you’ll put on weight like crazy? Are they bad for you? I just want to know if its true that you gain weight when you stop taking them, as i dont want to be taking them for the rest of my life. Any info on this would be great. Thanks!

percent of body fat is more important, not weight. if weight was more important then most bodybuilders would be considered overweight. weight loss pills usually dont work and if they do they arent good for the heart and more than likely you will gain all that weight back when off the pills…

I am 31 years old. I have two kids and have gained excessive weight after both of them. I had a cessarian with the first and natural with the second. I’m pear shaped so it’s mostly in my hips and buttocks. I have a desk job so I sit a lot and I’m always too tired feeling to work out at night. I’ve been on every diet under the sun to only gain it all back. I’ve tried numerous excersises also. Over the counter weight loss pills or energy pills give me a racing heart. When I do loose weight I get the saggy belly that hangs between the legs when I sit and bend so how would I be able to find out how would be the best way to loose weight effectivly for myself and my body type and keep the sagging away. Please help.

ok, first….stay away from the ‘diet pills’ — they are ALL CRAP, EVERY ONE OF THEM.
they all say, ‘use with ANY sensible diet and exercise program’…and the reason for this is that it is the sensible diet and exercise programs that are responsible for the Weight loss, not the stupid pills.

as for sensible diet part — and i’m not being funny here (it’s what works) stop eating so much. most of us have 2 double whoppers with cheese, or super size our meals etc. Just stop eating as much — 2 hot dogs instead of four, 1 whopper instead of 2, reduce calories gradually but noticeable. After a week or so, start throwing in the baked potato or salad instead of fries etc.
Just start eating less and less, then start eating healthier. Find good healthy things you can eat a lot of. And don’t worry about the ‘fat pig’ comments or looks — don’t do it because of that, do it for your other reasons — your life — you’re only 31 and have to live long and healthy to take care of your kids.

Work in the exercise program in whatever form you can — walk more (stairs instead of elevators, park a little further away and work), take walks with kids, pets, start doing floor exercises, plays sports with kids etc. You don’t have to join a gym or do 5 hrs of fitness a day — just more than you are now.

GOOD LUCK — eat less, eat healthy, start exercising, and exercise more.

I know, I know! I know that most people are going to say that diet pills only work when combined with diet and exercise. I understand that. But my biggest problem is over-eating. I have heard that these diet pill stop your desire to snack and make you feel full so that you don’t eat as much. My problem is that even when I am trying to cut down, I have no will power when I feel hungry, so I eat and eat till I feel full. I am about 20-25 lbs. over weight right now, and really want to loose it. I have cut out all sodas from my diet and also have begun watching the amount of carbs and sugars in and food I eat. I work for a dr and he told me that it is not about counting calories and that studies have shown it is better to count carbs and sugars. But I need something to curb these cravings and the need to over eat.
By on the market, I mean the ones that you see at the supermarket or at places like GNC. I am not looking to buy anything online.

Trimspa?
Relacore?
Leptopril?

Any like that, that you hear alot about on television.

Hi LittleMermaid!!
There are many types of weight loss pills and diet pills in the market. Some of these pills will curb your appetite, some supposedly speed up your metabolism and some are supposed to prevent your body from absorbing too much oil from your diet or restrict absorption of carbohydrate. But they all have one thing in common. Once you are off the pills, you will put on weight again. Therefore taking weight loss pills or diet pills are only temporary solutions. They do not condition your body to burn unwanted fat forever. On the contrary, your body may even adapt and resist the effects of the pills making you waste even more money and causing you more frustration.

So what is the best solution for permanent Weight loss? Well, just do these 3 things:-

1. Build Muscle – The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn.
2. Change Eating Habit – Eat your carbohydrate early in the day and restrict carbohydrate consumption later part of the day.
3. Exercise Your Heart and Lungs – Go for regular exercise and perform exercises that will make you puff, pant and sweat such as jogging, skipping or take part in ball games.

When these 3 activities become part of your daily routine, you will be burning extra calories every day. That means you will not put on weight easily and will lose body fat forever.

I am working out at the gym, have been going for 2 weeks and already getting amazing results. I have been using whey protein shakes right after the gym every time i go. i am going to start creatine next week. I have some stomach fat/gut, and some love handles. i weight 160 pounds and i am 5′6"…i was wondering if i could use the Weight loss pills to make my fat drop off fast. would the pills work and can i use it with the creatine?

Best way to get the love handles gone dispite what everyone may thing is diet. The fat burning pills will assist in this but it won’t make it go away. Creatine holds a lot of water weight but a good, starting supplement. Also include some interval training such as bike 30 sec. all out, 1 minute slowly, and so on for 20 minutes, that will burn all the extra fat off as well. Also, the best lifts that burn the most fat are full body lifts, such as squats, cleans, and dead lifts.

I’ve decided to lose about 50 lbs by the time the summer is over and so far I’m making great progress. I started my diet a little over a month ago and have already lost 14 lbs. I joined the gym. I go at least 4 times a week. Usually every day though unless another plan interrupts my schedule. I am watching what I eat. I have cut my calories significantly and even started keeping a food diary, in which i also keep track of my exercise. I bought a pedometer and count me steps, basically I’ve improved my way tremendously since the year started. My question now is in regards to those infamous "Weight loss pills". I would like to add something to increase my energy, boost my metabolism, and just speed up the process. I am kind of in a hurry because I am planning a vacation and would like to possibly complete this before my initial plan. But how can you trust anything out there, really? Has anyone taken anything that they were satisfied with? Or does anybody have any tips in general?
I tried the Slimquick, I even tried TrimSpa, but stopped taking them soon after. Trimspa still sits in my closet i took like 4 of them. Slimquick i used a whole bottle of, bought another one, went through half and then stopped because i wasn’t sure if they would interact with medications that i started taking at the time. I can say i was pretty satisfied with the results slimquick gave me. Still I would like to see what other options I have. The cost is also a concern, simply because I’m not rich and can’t afford to spend $100/month on weight loss pills. A friend of mine [body builder] swears by Hydroxycut. But not many other people I talked to recommended it, so any suggestions?

DO NOT TAKE DIET PILLS! They are dangerous!!

Last year I was visiting my parents and took diet pills on top on my exercise routine and normal diet. I was 26 at the time, 5′11, 180 lbs. By week three I was sick. I had diarrhea, dry heaves, dizziness, headaches, and a general feeling of being sick. I thought I had caught the flu or something. I had lost 13 lbs in 4 days. One morning I told my mom I didn’t feel good. My vision kept blacking out and I felt (for lack of a better way to say it) stoned. Later that afternoon I was walking from the bathroom to my bedroom (a 5 foot walk) and I passed out. I was rushed to the hospital emergency where they did a bunch of tests on me.

My pulse was up to 120, My blood pressure was 150/40, they had to start me on an IV, the did an EKG on me, took blood and urine samples, and a whole barrage of other tests.

They finally got me stabilized and said that I was dehydrated and malnutritioned. I told him that I took diet pills. When I mentioned diet pill, the doctors face lit up and said that’s why. He said they can cause a whole bunch of health problems, including death. He told me to toss the diet pills or next time I might not be so lucky.

I was kept in the hospital for almost 10 hours, given 3 or 4 IVs, potassium, juices, and monitored (by the EKG, blood pressure, and heart rate machines) every 15 minutes.

Please take my story as a warning. If you seriously want to loose weight there are better ways (I know because I’ve lost weight after this)

The quickest way is to cut out red meats, starches, breads, sugars, alcohol, and sodas.

Eat veggies (salads are good), soups, and drink TONS of water. If you get hungry between a meal, drink water to fill up.

In moderation eat white meats, and fruits (fruits contain natural sugars, and that can put on weight)

Practice portion control. Yes, you’ll feel hungry at first, but think of your goal, and soon your stomach will start shrinking and you won’t have that feeling anymore.

Eat 5 times a day. A small breakfast. A mid-morning snack, such as an apple. A small lunch. A mid-afternoon snack, such as carrots. A lite dinner. Do not eat any later than 7pm (6pm is better.)

Go exercise for at least an hour a day, incorporating weight training. Weight training builds muscle. Muscle burns fat. You get the idea. It also gives tone and definition. Also do a few yoga and pilates exercises to help tone those hard to reach and stubborn areas.

I want to drop some fat so that my six pack can come back. Also I feel my face has gotten a little bit chubby. My cardio routine seems to be getting the rest of my body toned up but it’s not dropping the fat I want.

Do any fat loss pills, supplements work or are they all a fad?

Most weight loss pills are actually diuretics, which will cause you to lose water weight (resulting in weight loss…) but not fat. I have never tried hydroxycut but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just a water pill (it even has "hydro" in the name).

The only FDA approved Weight loss pill is Ali, which blocks some absorption of fat in the foods you eat. Honestly, for the price you have to pay to take the pills, I don’t think it’s worth it. Keep up your cardio routine and try to eat healthy foods and you’ll eventually burn off the fat.
